Aluminum is a toxic metal. It has no known function in the human body and can actually be harmful.
Aluminum is used in a variety of products, including:
- Nutrition
- Packaging
- Medicines
- Cosmetics (including deodorant)
👉 Deodorants in particular are a major source of exposure. Antiperspirants often contain aluminum salts (such as aluminum chlorohydrate) that temporarily shut off the sweat glands. This inhibits sweating, but also allows aluminum to be absorbed by the skin into the body. This is a topic about which there is much discussion and research, and which we will discuss in more detail in a separate blog.
- E numbers: E173, E520, E521, E522, E523, E554 (e.g. as an anti-caking agent in table salt)
- Food: table salt, baking powder, processed cheese, bleached flour, canned soda
- Herbs: peppermint, spearmint, wintergreen
- Packaging: aluminum foil, beer and soda cans
- Cookware: aluminum pans and utensils
- Deodorant: containing aluminum chlorohydrate or related compounds
- Medications: antacids, anti-diarrheal drugs, painkillers
- Vaccines: some vaccines use aluminum as a preservative
- Cosmetics: makeup with aluminum as a gloss base
- Heredity: transmission from mother to child through the placenta
Early symptoms:
- Flatulence
- Headache
- Dry skin and mucous membranes
- Heartburn
- Aversion to meat
Late symptoms:
- Memory loss, confusion and dementia
- Paralysis symptoms in muscles
- Anemia
- Kidney and liver problems

- Via nutrition
- Via air (exhaust fumes, industry)
- Via water
- Through cosmetics and skin products (including daily use of deodorant)
⚠️ Aluminum accumulates in the body, especially in the brain, and is associated with dementia and neurological disorders.
- Nutrition: vegetables rich in vitamin C, cilantro, parsley, green leafy vegetables
- Seeds: flaxseeds and chia seeds for omega-3 and fiber
- Use glass, steel or cast iron instead of aluminum cookware
- Read labels of food, medicine and cosmetics
- Glutathione: optimize your glutathione levels with eggs, garlic, onions, broccoli, Brussels sprouts, asparagus, avocado
- Support excretory organs: liver, kidneys, intestines and skin
- Rest and sleep: essential for detoxification
- Stress management: stress delays detoxification
- Drink plenty of water to eliminate toxins
Aluminum is often seen spiritually as the ‘soft in the head’ metal. It can cloud the connection to clear thinking and intuition. From an energetic standpoint, it is important to protect yourself from harmful influences and cleanse your body.
Herbs such as coriander and parsley have been used for centuries as purifiers for both body and mind.
